This adventure began in our workshop just over a year ago, with a specially designed mould to ensure there would be no glue seam in the boat. Everything was done to make the boat as light as possible.
But a lightweight boat is nothing without great rowers! What a team; 32 days at sea in tough conditions. Headwinds, crosswinds, rain, heat; they faced it all. Eat, sleep, row; eat, sleep, row—and do that for 32 days straight. They saw many extraordinary wild animals. These were the highlights of the race.
They led the race from the start and eventually finished more than 200 miles ahead of the runners-up (a four-person boat)! Now it’s time to recover and enjoy this fantastic achievement! TWAC 2020 winners Mark Slats and Kai Wiedmer.
