Commissioned by Egge Haak, we built the hull for the I-go 40. The I-Go 40 is a catamaran that can be completely dismantled and fits into 2 containers. Ready to be shipped and stored anywhere in the world.
The boat is made mostly of glass prepreg; the beams that keep the two hulls apart are made of carbon prepreg. The fully demountable deck consists of fiberglass panels, also made at PDC. The owner chose not to fully cover the boat, but to paint the composite structure instead. The boat has 6 berths and is fully self-sufficient and off-grid. There is no need to stock up on fuel, gas or water.
In 2019, PDC was nominated at METS in the category of Innovation in a Production Process, partly thanks to the I-go 40. Our more affordable method of making molds for high temperatures had also attracted attention around the world. We didn’t win the award, but we’re proud to have stood alongside the world’s leading names.
